Getting Ready...

Five days and counting.  Mr. Jackson, our principal, Ms. Warr, our AP, and I are off to Denmark in just five days.  It's been a long, but exciting process to get to this point.

Ms. Warr applied for a grant through the Center for International Understanding several months ago.  We were delighted to be chosen as one of five schools from North Carolina to qualify for a Danish sister school.  Through various e-mails to CIS and our sister school, a Chapel Hill workshop, and just plain ole research, we know we are ready to meet our new school.

We will arrive in Copenhagen on Oct. 3.  We will spend a couple days in the captial for orienatation, then off to Aarhus.  We will travel by train--underwater or over by rail--don't quote me on this one--and be greated by Dorthe Hessellholdt and the principal, Lar Scheibel.  We will be hosted by other teachers and principals while there.  And of course, we can't wait to meet the students!   We return home October 9--with lots and lots of tales, pictures, and information to share.

So off to the land of Hrothgar and Beowulf, off to make our own epic.
